Education/Degrees Earned: Two-year Associates Degree from Fairbury Junior College; Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Business Education from University of Nebraska; Elementary Education Degree from University of Nebraska Lincoln; Special Education Degree from Concordia College, Seward, Nebraska; Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane College.  

Education Experience: 1967-2006 Western Public Schools (High School Business, 5-9 Language Arts K-8 grades, Music K-8 grades, self contained classrooms for Pre-K andK, 1 & 2, 5 & 6,  K-8 Special Education Teacher; 2006-2007 Duties split between Tri-County and Meridian due to state mandate after Western Public School closed; Junior College Keyboarding during summer school 1975 and 1976; adult keyboarding 1967-1969; LPS summer school teacher for 4 and 5 year old verified children; 2007-present time at Bruning-Davenport USD.

I have been teaching since 3 days after I finished college (August 1967)  and I absolutely love it.  I can't imagine doing anything else in my life.  Wish I had more time ahead of me as I would love to pursue studies in brain research in relationship to the field of disabilities.

Teaching Responsibilities/Coaching/Sponsorships: Business Teacher, Pep Club sponsor, Language Arts in grades 5-8 (37 years), Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Teacher (12 years), 5-6 Grade Teacher (1982-1984), 1-2 Grade Teacher (15 years), Special Education 9 years, Elementary Music Teacher-22 years, (some of these duties overlapped--for example, I taught music during the time I was also a kindergarten teacher, and a language arts teacher)

Family: Husband, Thomas OTR owner-operator of Hand's Hauling,  My daughter Alicyn lives in New York;  my son-James lives in Lincoln.

Hobbies: Playing Piano & Organ--listening to music--working outdoors--spending time with family & friends--baking Czech breads and cooking- watching Nebraska football & Nebraska Volleyball- traveling by car throughout the United States (have seen 44 of the states)- traveling in the semi truck with Tommy--improving my home--spending time making improvements and beautifying my "ranch"--going shopping, wandering thru antique malls and eating (either in their homes, my home or in a restaurant) with my friends, Shelly and Pam.
